WJFNC Open Day A Big Success

22 Feb 2016 by Kellie Duff

Sunday’s open day had a great turn out with many new & existing players enjoying a warm & sunny Woodend day down at the newly reconstructed Gilbert Gordon oval.
The handball target, drop punt bins & skills sessions were a hit & the netballers and footballers mixed it up as the boys showed off their flare in the air on the netball court and the girls showcased their marking & kicking skills on the footy field. A lot of fun & laughs were had & we now have quite a few new members, which is a great way start to our 2016 season!
Special thanks to;
- Western Water (RDFNL’s netball naming rights partner) for the use of their event water bubbler & bottle refiller & donating water bottles to giveaway.
- Black Forest Meats for supplying sausages for the BBQ.
- Woodend Auskick – Joel Dwyer & Mick Hassett for their time demonstrating the benefits of Auskick with entertaining games & drills.
- The Senior Football/Netball club (WHFNC) & the Woodend Cricket Club for accommodating us at their home ground & supporting us on the day.
- All players, committee & club helpers who lent their help & support to pull the day together.
