Back on Track!!

11 Jun 2020 by Danielle Morrison

With the support of the coaches and the committee we are getting training back on track, starting from 15th of June!

While there is no confirmed start date on the season or clarity on what this will look like. We are comfortable that with the schools opening up and restrictions lifting somewhat, there is great benefit in getting out amongst the elements in the middle of winter to dust off the cobwebs, have some fun and catch up with friends. This is probably closer to the core of what junior sport is about than the result on any given Sunday.

At this stage it will be for Under 11’s and up in football and netball. We will revisit options for the under 9’s and Auskick in coming weeks.

To train all players must be registered. There are no exceptions to this as you will not be covered by insurance. To faciliate this we have created a new category of registration for football (boys and girls) which will not cost anything – that’s right $0, until we know what’s happening with the season ahead. To register please follow this link https://membership.sportstg.com/regoform.cgi?aID=3197&pKey=507e4b7880ed47151e6d1ccfd2c30ced&cID=682&formID=36056 , or via TeamApp. Netballers will be required to be registered with the Victorian Netball

All players/parents must also be on TeamApp and join your specific age group. All training times will be advised by TeamApp in coming days and all those intending to participate need to RSVP to the event invitation. Further details on this to follow.

Aside from the coach (and assistant coach for football), we will require parent volunteers at each session to help administer the process. We will also look to generate rosters for this in coming days. If you can help that would be great and we will require you to complete your Covid Safe Training - https://covid-19training.gov.au/register. It takes about 15mins and if you listen to the radio, watch the news or read a newspaper your be right!

We may not have a clear idea on what the season will look like for another couple of weeks. Probably following the planned State Government update on the 22nd of June. With an agreement in place with the cricket associations, the season may run into mid to late October, so there is a good chance we’ll have a meaningful season. Until we know a clear position on this we won’t be in a position to advise on the rollover, reduction or reimbursement of registration fees. We appreciate your patience in this regard, please contact us directly if this is a concern.

GO HAWKS 2020!!
