Yes, we’re close to the start of the season and there are still a number of back room items for us to organise. We’d appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation to help your coaches and committee get the season up and running smoothly.

There are still a number of members from last year yet to register – FIRST IN BEST DRESSED, DON’T MISS OUT. Any issues registering please advise via registrar@woodendhawks.com.au or via your coaches and committee. Under 17’s team Regrettably we have not been able to get the numbers together to field an Under 17’s team in 2018.
This has arisen largely because of the change in age divisions (going from 16.5 to 17) where around half of the squad from last years under 16.5’s don’t qualify and there are no players coming up from the under 14’s which is now under 15. We are one of 5 clubs in the league whom are unable to field a side in the under 17’s. We have expressed our disappointment to the league with respect to the way this has been implemented.

Thanks to all the players who have stayed loyal, good luck to the players playing up in the senior ranks and hopefully the players who choose to go to other clubs will return to the nest in years to come.

To Woody, thank you. Your efforts and unrelenting enthusiasm has not only been admirable but you have given the side every opportunity of coming together and succeeding. On behalf of the committee, players and parents – thank you!!

Working with children checks To ensure we fulfil our legal obligations and in the best interest of the welfare of participants, we will be asking all adults involved in any capacity to forward their current working to registrar@woodendhawks.com.au and your childs name. For many of the volunteer roles this is mandatory but we expect this to be implemented across the board.

This is a MASSIVE administrative undertaking so we would appreciate your cooperation. Please assist your team managers by being proactive in getting these details in.

Under 9’s registration
The under 9’s have a solid squad together training with Pete on a Wednesday night. Their competition will commence on Friday 20th April, 2018.

While the draw was only issued on Tuesday and with Easter in-between now and then we will be busily trying to get all the registrations sorted. We will post instructions for registration and payment of subs in coming days via Team App. First Aid and Trainers

The call out for first aiders and trainers has been less than overwhelming. These are essential volunteer roles and we’ll have to start appealing for individuals to step up if we don’t have some volunteers come forward.

Please follow up with your Team Managers or via your coach is you are able to assist.

Property

Game day jumpers will be handed out over the next few weeks at training I will let team managers know exact times/days.
As a reminder and for those who are new to the game/club, jumper numbers are issued based on how long a player has been playing with the club and their age.
To avoid disappointment for all those kids who obviously want jumper 18 (after the great Matthew Llyod), if there is another child who has been playing longer with that number in your team this season they get first option … so please don’t promise that your child will get their first option. This is especially important when younger players move up to a new team, at times these players will need to change numbers if an older player has the same number.

Socks are available for purchase @ $15 pair.

We have a limited amount of old stock of home and away shorts to purchase for $15 each. We have been informed that kids can wear these until they grow out of them. First in first serve … we have more smaller sizes than larger available.
The new shorts as supplied to us by the league will be available in a week or so and will be $30 (no profit is made by the club).
I will be at individual training sessions over next week to purchase socks and shorts.
It would be great to let your team manager know if you are looking at purchasing shorts and what size so we can get an idea of stock needed.
